60 Second Service and World Food Day 2012

It's time for the our initial 60 Second Service video. Here's my intro. Maybe one day I'll show you the 4.3 million takes we shot before this final video. Previous clips involved the following: two yellow jackets, a barking dog, a fire engine, a leaf blower, and uncontrollable laughter from a certain almost ten-year-old.

At some point in this series, I will become tech savvy, and join my intro clip and the guest clip together. Today is not that day.

Oxfam USA World Food Day is October 16th (this Tuesday!).  Here's Lisa and her kids to tell you about ways your family can learn about food and serve as a family.

Go ahead and tell me how cute the little signs they made are. Go on, tell me. Please turn up the volume for this video.

Eventually, we're going to have to see those out-takes for sure :) I love that you're doing this, and I love Oxfam. Such a cute video with the kids helping out, too. Thanks for the resources Amy and Lisa! Going to look around now!

Lisa,
Your family is so sweet, and I appreciate your willingness to put yourself out there. Can't wait to collaborate more...one of the things I love about blogging.

What an awesome idea!! You are so creative! Thinking about where our food comes from and knowing where it should come from is just so overwhelming to me. I feel like I just have so little input into any of it. I just try to make the best choices I can for my family and strive to help others in need. I am most passionate about the work that Heifer International does. I'd love to work for them someday!!

Sara,
I agree thinking about our food is overwhelming. I'm not sure why. I guess because I know there are so many things wrong with our food system. I think World Food Day is a good time to take a small peek. Plus, I always like when organizations make things kid-friendly. It's easier on us. Thanks for reading, girl!

Jamie and Steph,
Thanks for reading, ladies. Steph, forget the list...you are a pinner, baby. That's how I always keep track of the good stuff.

Kendal,
Vlogs sort of stink. You think, ohhhh, tell me I don't look like that, sound like that, fidget like that, but I'm trying to push myself a bit. Blah!

You know what though? The friend who urged me to do this is right. People connect with you and probably feel as if they know you more...or they will quickly click away because you annoy them. Ha!

Great resources in this post...I've been thinking about doing something similar in January and these tools are a big help.

Also thinking about submitting a 60-sec segment ;) but I need to get through this crazy month of writing...how far out are you planning these for?
