Will we act or will we watch and walk on?
Hopefully, you aren't waiting for someone else to act. Statistics show they won't.

But this is only one case. The Bystander Effect can't happen often, right?
Think about Nazi Germany, Rwanda, and these 10 Notorious Cases of the Bystander Effect.
Praying you find courage to stand up even when it's hard.

Good words. Thanks for the encouragement!
This is crazy, Amy! I wanted to jump into the tv and help the child. My goodness...
Gaby,
I know. I know. How many times do we think someone else will do it?
There was a case this spring in China of a toddler being accidentally driven over and then the driver backed up to be sure he killed the child because it costs less to kill someone than to just accidentally hurt them. The outrage here ... yowza. But the scary thing, in that moment, I could see myself having the same thought.
ok, that video is absurd.. makes me terrified! I agree with Gaby- just wanted to run into the video and change the outcome. Just yesterday my pastor said that the number one mark of the holy spirit is boldness- the spirit gives us boldness to stand for Jesus... thinking this will be my new prayer for myself and my clan- MORE OF THE SPIRIT! Hope you've had a great holiday weekend, friend.
Unbelievable! But I wonder at times if the more "staged scenes" like this continue to take place does it actually help or hurt future situations. There seems to be a lot of this kind of thing on dateline and 20/20 and I wonder sometimes if people would ever witness a situation and be like "oh dude, this is one of those set up things and I'm gonna be on tv and I don't want to be on tv so I'm going to pass by the screaming kid." I know, I think waaay too much.
While I'm sitting here today debating on stepping out and "doing" something, you post this. I'm assuming there's no reason to do nothing and be a bystander any longer. Tears! My heart is racing seeing this.
wow that is some video. You know deep down and in pure honesty, I too often am a bystander. I really wonder what I would do. I would hope this isn't true of me - that I would step up and be involved. Probably depends on the circumstance but your post makes me squirm a bit and that is good.
Oh my... this is sobering. I pray that I would have the courage to stand-up for someone and protect if I find myself in a situation like this. This is reality.
Thank you for sharing this. I will be showing my kiddos this video.
