Tonight I spent time with ladies who are quickly becoming fa-vor-ites.
These ladies live at a women’s shelter.
At one point, these women hashed out details of how they will serve others tomorrow.
Let me repeat that.
Homeless women, who live at a shelter, made plans to take gloves and homemade Valentine’s to people who have less then they do.
Dang, people.
Tonight reminded me of words I heard in this video about having love for people you don't know.
My Valentine wishes: Here’s to the hope that you find a way to shrink the gap between well-meaning Christians and the hurting, you turn off the cell phone and just listen, you hurl yourself outside your comfort zone, you feel dreamy when you look at your spouse, and you find a way to love someone who needs it.
: :
Congrats to Shelia on winning the Valentine read recommended by Michele.
Linking with Jen and crew.
Did you read Love Letters to the Underloved yet? It's received over 50,000 page views. That's just plain crazy.
Always,

Wow, Amy, this post challenged me! Those ladies are amazing. Thanks for writing about them. I love your heart for people, girl
I worked for 6 years as a victims advocate for DASH- domestic abuse shelter homes - one of the ladies is still one of my best friends ever :) great post! thanks for sharing!!!
God creates in all of us -- regardless of our life-situation -- the capacity to be loved, and also to love. This is a great example of that.
thanks for this...seeing God's love...and to be continued to be challenged to love outside my comfort zone...
Blessings~
That is so awesome!
No words. This is inspiring.
Over 50,000 views!?! WOW! That is awesome.
wow. convicting and inspiring all in one. i pray for a tender heart. . . and for God to literally drop opportunities in my lap, for i often have a hard time finding them myself.
great write!

That is beautiful! Life-changing! AND congratulations on Love Letters to the Underloved...I just viewed it and it is an amazing and encouraging piece of work!
Congratulations about the Love Letters. What an amazing project that God just put wings on. Look at your fly, girl.
It takes effort to see, in order to love well. You got me with "put down the cell phone and just listen." Last week, my husband and I were out to dinner and I said to him, "You realize I'm re-writing sentences in my head?" And he said, "I could tell." He deserves better. Good post, reminding me how easily distracted I am with my own business from stopping to see who is right in front of me and in need of love.
And congrats again on that Letters project. That was something!
powerful video. very convicting. You have such a warm giving heart. A role model and an inspiration for us! Thank you
this is good, really good. hope your day is LOVEly and dreamy. : )
Those ladies sound amazing. Definitely hits me hard. I sometimes feel like I just don't have anything since Steven lost his job last August. It's so easy to get stuck in loss - so much so that you let it keep you from seeing what you have been blessed with, even if it's only time. Love seeing that video again :)
Oh, and that magazine was so awesome! I am uber-proud of you! I hope another issue is in the making someday :)
Oh yes. I had this type of woah moment myself when handing out bagged lunches in inner city denver with highschool kids... these fine folks actually declined our offer, as they had eaten that day. They thought someone else should be given the blessing instead of them. gah. people can be just plain amazing can't they?!?! thanks for helping us see them.
You know I love this!
I interviewed a former teen homeless boy today for my book and I had the privelege of leading him in the sinners prayer. We have a precious new brother in Christ. You never know when you listen and love a stranger, how God will open doors!
"Dang, people."
My favorite line.
And the most convicting line. I must do more. I've been given so much. Show me, Lord!
Thanks, Amy. (I think. {smile})
