Mushy, gushy, make your heart race, love letters are headed your way. Prepare.
And to help you envision some of the love that’s happening at our house, I thought I’d share a conversation my husband and I had this morning.
Picture me late for work and racing out the door. Note: To get an accurate picture, you also may want to envision some toast or other small particles of food on my shirt.
Husband: Um, did you brush your hair today?
Me: Not really.
Husband: You might want to rethink that one.
It’s a good life.

On a totally unrelated note, I finished my January series on raising giving kids over at Mom It Forward. Click over to read more.
Today, at Mom It Forward, I wrote about the fab Almost-Sleepover we hosted in October, and although I don’t discuss it there, the Make a Difference Day Almost-Sleepover is up for an award. Like a real award. Yes, an award to the tune of $10,000 type of award. Which means this is not the last you will hear about the Almost-Sleepover. In fact, in a couple weeks, I will be begging you for votes.
Love to you.
Oh, and this is the type of post that I would totally close the comments on, but you told me you hated that, and therefore, I'm trying not to do it. Sigh. But I really want to.

wahoo!!! yes! my vote will be YES!!! and i'm so psyched you didn't close the comments! are you crazy! how can we shower you with love if you close the comments?????????
that's a ton of money. you'd better never close the comments again. and i hope you get the stinkin' award. you deserve it :-)
now. do you feel loved?
steph
by "stinkin' award". . . well that was a good thing, ya know. just to make sure you know. guess i got a bit carried away there. . . . .
LOVE it... I shall vote YES too... just tell me when and where! How exciting!!! :)
Yeah, girls!
Glad to have your votes. I'll explain the process in detail as it gets closer, but basically the Make A Difference Day Almost-Sleepover has to win the award (not me!), and then if that happens, all of the names of the 35 people who hosted Almost Sleepovers will go into a hat.
Then, the name of the nonprofit we held the party for must be drawn for our organization to win.
It's a process, but I think we have a shot!
Thanks for being excited. The Rathbun Center (the nonprofit we held the party for is amazing!). I'd love to see them get the money.
So many things to comment on in this post. Yes to voting...how awesome (not just 3 dots there, I am learning).
I am have a crappy day and gosh that converstaion between you and Shane cheered me up. I don't know what I think is more funny, that you weren't sure if you brushed your hair or that he encouraged you to brush your hair. You guys are a gift to the world!
Supposed to read "note just 3 dots"
And YAY to your Jan series and to keeping comments open! :)
Hi Amy, I'm just surfing around checking out your blog. Thought I'd pay you a little compliment. You seem so down to earth and well...REAL. Thanks for that. It's always refreshing to see a real blogger, wife, mom, etc...
Anyway, I'll be visiting often. I'm very curious about these love letters you mention.
Blessings to you,
~Rosann
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! God bless him!! I'd rather have blunt honesty than to go around in my pretty Easter duds, feeling like Ms. Thang, all the while there is a HUMONGOID run up the back of my hose- that's found hours later mind you- that the hubs replies: "Oh that? Yeah, it was there when you left the house this morning. I didn't want to have to wait on you to go back in and change them." when asked if the run was obvious!!Kiss Shane for me! hahhahahahahahaha
That is so exciting! Can't wait to vote :)
lol! you're funny. A girl's entitled to a bad hair day, even if she's not sure about it! I got one of those do's goin' on today, must say.
Looking forward to those love letters!
This made me laugh because my husband and I have the same type of relationship. Recently my sister had purged some of her clothes and I took home several shirts, including a really cute t-shirt made of form-fitting material. I put it on and began to head out when Chris said, "That shirt is really cute, but I think it might show more of your belly than you're comfortable with. Of course, I think you're beautiful!"
Oh, goodness, I'm trying to catch up. I've read about the Almost Sleepover and your poor sister and her broken and now I'm going to read about love letters? you know, Amy, I love this about you, Amy: you always keep me moving! You inspire, my friend.
Ha! That is too funny. I can totally see this conversation happening. That is awesome. And, can't wait to click over to see the other links. And, kudos for keeping comments open :)
