My friend said she knew the way to the Garden of Eden.
With twenty-pound packs and adventure seeking husbands, we journeyed passed mail-carrying horses (Yes, some mail still makes its way to recipients by horse in the US!) and down ten, rocky miles to the village of Supai.
One fading headlamp guided us away from a pack of stray dogs and through miles of cactus, laden fields, all while turquoise waterfalls pounded on.
And although ten mile, Grand Canyon adventures prove unforgetable, it's the conversation with forever friends drenched in dreams and laughter that lingers in my head.

Happy holiday weekend, friends. Hope the next few days bring conversation drenched in dreams and laughter.

Horseback riding in Ireland's Wicklow Mountains was indescribable!
Now that sounds like an adventure Amy.
Pushing the charcoal black sand between my toes while watching the waves crash into volcanic rocks on a beach off Maui's Road to Hana was an unforgettable experience.
Hiking to "El Pailon del Diablo" (the pot of the devil) in Ecuador. It's pretty impressive if the name tells you anything :)
Katharine,
Sigh, I've always wanted to go to Ireland, nice.
Brain,
Charcoal black sand? I've only seen black sand once...it was so cool that it seemed fake!
Gaby,
The Pot of the Devil? Now you have me off to Google.
Love the sounds of your adventure. I surprised my hubby when we were going to Hawaii saying I would like to take the helicopter ride above the volcano. I don't like heights so it shocked him but it was a highlight of that trip. would do it again too.
What a beautiful picture! I must visit this place :) My life has not been very adventuresome as far as traveling (yet!) But I did enjoy a jeep tour and snorkeling in Cozumel a few years ago. Maybe we should plan Ireland together...for professional writing reasons, of course :)
That's beautiful. I love adventure.
Adventure is speaking to God on a mountain in my backyard, face to face with a bull Moose on horseback, being reminded He is the God who sees.
Nothing like a run-on eh? :)
Jessie,
Ha! I love your adventure sentence, and my whole post is a run-on. Sometimes you just have to...run-on and on.
The births of each one of our 3 gifts from God were miraculous (and hil-ar-ious!)adventures!!
