A Story You Do Not Want To Miss

Meet the Chryst Family.

I hunt for stories of families who inspire. I search out tales of those who encourage me to think about the hard stuff, and who stretch me in new ways.

The Chrysts are one of those families.

This family decided to act in a big way and change the life of one little girl forever.

And by doing so, this family found themselves forever changed.

This is Brooklyn’s story.

Tomorrow Brooklyn undergoes the first of three surgeries. Will you leave a comment, prayer, or word of encouragement for her family? Or bounce over to mom, Nicole’s blog and leave a word or two there?

A big PS: Nicole also happens to be an amazing photographer. Check out some of her work here.

Nicole,
Praying for little Brooklyn's surgery.
Praying for you as you go through this time with her.
Praying that Brooklyn heals quickly.
Praying for the doctors.
Praying your video touches others in a big way.

Thanks for sharing a part of you here today.

well, Amy, i'm gonna have to quit reading your blog because every time i come here i cry!
as an adoptive mom, that just brought back way too many memories :-) and if that doesn't make everyone watching want to go and bring home a dozen sweet kids of their own, i don't know what would.
precious. and i will certainly visit her blog and tell her i'll be praying for her daughter.
thanks for sharing this!

Hi Amy.
It's very touching!
I'll certainly pray for Brooklyn.

On the same note...
there's someone I know, over here, who's not as lucky as Brooklyn.
She couldn't afford surgeries. She stays that way for the rest of her life. But, one thing for sure, she lives life to the fullest.

Lord, I thank You for raising up people like the Chrysts, people who respond to the call to take in those who do not have a home. I thank you for their open hearts and their willing spirits. I pray protection over their family as Brooklyn undergoes her surgeries. I pray for steadiness of the doctor's hands and for wisdom to help him get everything just so. I pray peace as the parents wait in the waiting room. I pray that your glory is revealed, in this, and in everything.

Nicole, thank you so much for sharing your story! I just prayed for you and your little girl, for the doctors and nurses who will be attending her. My oldest is five and has undergone two surgeries, both minor. But, it's always scary when it's your baby!! God is holding her in his hands. Blessings! Sara

And these people, the Chrysts ... they live up to their name, yes? I don't know how their last name is pronounced, but I now what their name speaks to me. This one word:

Christ.
Christ.
Christ.

Inspiring story. Prayers for the family today.
