Abby has just started reading the headlines on the morning paper. Of course, she has questions, so I try to answer them in a way that shows her a way to pray instead of a way to fear.

These are great!
We sponsor a child through compassion and one through Hopes Promise with our church. I have had all four children with me serving at soup kitchens and we have a missionary family we pray for. We've talked about our world and surrounding, too. It doesn't seem enough. Somehow, I still feel too far removed.
i love how you don't just talk about doing stuff, amy. you actually post practical stuff, that won't break the bank, and that just about anyone could do. it's very motivating! thanks for the great suggestions.

I used to let myself become discouraged. . .the world was too big, and let's face it, I'm pretty small. Now, I'm embracing the little ways we can all make an impact
So much good here, Amy. I DO feel overwhelmed-even though we help in some of the ways you mention. I like what you say about embracing the little ways. The best thing I can do is pray. And teach my boys to. And now? I'm breaking out the map.
