Horse Saddles and Soap

"The HandsOn Network inspires, equips, and mobilizes people to change lives through service,” and lucky for us, we have a local HandsOn chapter, HandsOn Asheville-Buncombe, that connects people interested in volunteering to local projects.

It doesn't matter if you live in Michigan, Minnesota, Maryland, or Maine. If you are interested in local volunteer opportunities, click here, enter your zip code, and discover projects through the HandsOn Network.

Today, my daughter, Amelia, shares her view on a project she and my husband participated in over the weekend, a project we found through the HandsOn Network. In case you are new, Amelia is eight, and she occasionally blogs about our adventures in serving through her eight-year-old eyes. Here's Amelia:

Guess what we did? We cleaned saddles for a center were kids who dont have homes to live. Me and my dad went. There were so many animals too! There was a lamma,hores,1 goat, and a donkey. One of the hores spit on me twice. two of the kids came down and there names were zack and kylie. If they need help i will help them again. Love, Amelia
