But I Like Where I Am, and I'm So Good at Life Here!

Are you comfortable where you are?

Perhaps a little too comfortable?

Maybe even a tad stuck?

Sometimes I’m too busy patting myself on the back for previous growth to notice the sluggish pace my current growth has taken.

The slow-moving speed I’m referring to doesn’t just relate to my family’s journey towards gracious giving, sometimes it relates to my faith.

Take a peek at this fun video from rightnow.org.

Is there an area in your life that needs a little push (or swift kick!)? What’s holding you back from taking a step out of kindergarten and a leap into the big world?

Linking up with Jen and the girls today at Finding Heaven. Why don't you click over and hang out with us for a bit?

The way that you described the sluggish pace...that has truly hit home for me! Thank you!

Too funny. Then again, maybe that was my mistake--leaving kindergarten in the first place! Sometimes I think I need to get sent back to re-learn kindergarten lessons in my faith--remedial Christianity--all those things I thought I knew and understood but seem to have a hard time putting into practice.

When I get comfortable, I know its time to get on edge, it usually means that God is going to shake things up a bit!

It's so true that we need to grow and start eating steak and potatoes. I'm excited because I know I've left elementary school and am almost finished junior high. Can't wait to see what high school has for me. Thanks for sharing this Amy.

This is awesome. You know, I think I still have those kindergarten places in me -- when I still worry or seek to control. What a great way to get us thinking!

Love this, Amy! I'm with Jen on the kindergarten places. But the video provides a great image of what it looks like to let fear keep me from stepping out and taking risks. I'll have to show this to my Arin, who always hates trying anything new.

Funny video - and it gets the message across in a memorable, visual way. Thank you!

Cute video, and it's so true that it's easy to get stuck at a place where you are comfortable. I am fighting a lot of fear right now about things I know I am to do, but am scared to do. Maybe on some level, fear is a good motivator, an indicator that you are doing something uncomfortable. Thanks for the kick!

Thank you again for stopping by the cottage Amy.

By the way...I do live in a cottage. It was a barn in its former life...then the previous owners added a kitchen...the cottage was born! :)

Be blessed...Maria.

My husband showed this video to our church a few weeks ago.I laughed so hard all the way through. I was wishing I could be the actor in the clip so badly. I know....I totally missed the point! Not really though.

Thanks for sharing.
I do the very same thing.
It's like we boast in our spiritual accomplishments for too long..
I pray a year from now I can see the change! :)

Seriously!? I absolutely love this! I'm completely linking to this when I write about Peter stepping out of the boat in my Matthew 14 series.

Love the stuff you find!

Lately, God has been taking me through some stuff and so I'm kind of thinking that a moment in which I'm not being called to grow EVEN FOR JUST A MOMENT sounds pretty good. I might need to spend a day in Kindergarten. :)

I need a kick...and I knew exactly where.

Sometimes I feel stuck, even when I am in a place that I don't like or want to stay in.
